Two small hills yet both big on value

Chrome Hill & Parkhouse Hill may not meet the lofty heights like some of the other hills in the Peak District or the other national parks but what they lack in height they certainly make up for with views and wow factor, Parkhouse Hill in particular has some fun hands on scrambling.

We were up in the area visiting Bakewell and it was a lovely sunny day so we headed for a quick walk, it was quite hazy so this made getting clear photos difficult especially when trying to capture Chrome Hill as I was facing direct at the bright sun. Both hills are about 3 miles north of the village of Longnor in the White Peak area of the National Park and it doesn’t take long to reach the summit of either hill.

When we got back down and were heading back to the car we were greeted by a very friendly lamb who looked like it wanted to come and join us that was until its mum decided enough was enough and came bounding over to usher the little one away.
